The magazine for business smart ICT leaders.
In the 10 years since CIO began publishing, the role of the CIO and their importance to the ICT supplier, has evolved greatly. The CIO is still the most senior person responsible for ICT in an organisation and still the person with sign-off for virtually every major ICT project, but now they are expected to be business leaders, not just technology leaders. Their role is now about the application of technology to the business and leveraging their ICT assets to achieve business outcomes, rather than focusing on the purely technical aspects of a particular project.
CIO is the only publication in New Zealand dedicated to the unique information needs of this group of senior ICT-dedicated executives. The editor, Divina Paredes was winner of the NZ Hi-Tech Journalist of the Year award at the 2006 and 2007 PWC New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards, and Best Magazine Feature Writer ICT at the 2007 Qantas Media Awards. For organisations who sell their products and services into the enterprise space, CIO is an essential component of the marketing mix.
Editorial profile
The magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board reads like a Who’s Who of senior ICT figures in New Zealand, and this group guides the editorial direction of the magazine. Members include the technology heads of the largest ICT users in the country: Fonterra, The warehouse, NZ Defence Force and the University of Auckland as well as many others. Their input ensures that it is always as relevant and useful as possible to their peers — the people responsible for purchasing your technologies & services.
Audience
- Over 90% of CIO readers are male. They are well-educated, earn on average over $100k per annum and are the most senior ICT decision-maker in their organisation.
- 80% of CIO readers are directly responsible for the purchasing of ICT hardware and software in their organisation.
- Over 85% of copies of the magazine are kept for future reference or passed on to colleagues in the department.
- CIO Magazine is the first-choice title of CIOs looking for insight into ICT strategy, business strategy and management practices.
