1. The publisher reserves the right to refuse any advertisement considered unsuitable for the publication, at the publisher’s discretion.

2. Rates for contracts are based on frequency and are calculated according to the total number of advertisements run within the contract period. All contract schedules must be used within a 12 month period. For the purpose of calculating frequency, spreads count as two insertions.

3. Advertisers will be surcharged if they do not use the space upon which their advertising rates were based during the contract period. Advertisers may be rebated by credit adjustment if space used warrants a lower rate than that for which they have been charged.

4. Fairfax Media Business Group cannot guarantee the outcome of any digitally supplied advertising unless a digital proof from the working file is provided. Fairfax Media Business Group requires CMYK Process colours with a minimum resolution of 300dpi, therefore any PMS colours used will be converted to Process and may result in a colour shift. Lineart must be a minimum of 1200dpi. Images must not contain extra channels, transfer curves or compression. No spot colours are to be used.

5. The publisher shall not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained by the advertiser consequent upon (i) failure of an ad to appear when instructed by the advertiser, or (ii) appearance in a form different from that instructed by the advertiser.

6. Quoted rates are subject to variation on 30 days notice.

7. All art and advertising materials will be stored at advertisers’ risk. Fairfax Media Business Group will not retain material for longer than six months after last date of use. Please advise, in writing, if material should be kept.

8. New Zealand accredited advertising agencies will be paid a commission of 15% on the placement of display advertising, plus an additional 5% for prompt payment. Advertising placed from other countries attracts commission rates prevailing in the country of origin.

9. The advertiser by submitting or authorising submission of material for publication indemnifies the publisher from and against any proceedings, demands, costs, expenses, damages, penalties, judgements and liabilities of any nature taken, made, or awarded against or incurred by the publisher arising out of or in connection with the advertisement and warrants and declares that nothing in the advertisement infringes the rights of any person or is in breach of the provisions of any statutes and its acceptance, use or publication will not give rise to any claims against or liabilities for publisher.

10. Payment on invoice is required. For advertisers with approved Fairfax Media Business Group credit facilities, payment terms are 20th of the month following date of publication.

11. Cancellation deadline is 30 days prior to publication date. Cancellation after this date means the advertiser will be liable to pay for the space booked.

12. At its sole discretion, Fairfax Media Business Group may use previous material if copy is not supplied by deadline.
